My wedding day catastrophe w/ Thomas Amey
Recently, I married the love of my life. My fiance' had just graduated college and I had one more semester left in February. He had started a new job with frequently long hours. So, my mother was the main planner for my wedding. In planning, she needed to choose a photographer. She went to many and had come down to two or three different possibilities. Thomas Amey, a photographer working out of Newnan, Georgia, was who she chose after he had stated that since he was trying to get in the LaGrange area, he would give a discount and work well with us. Well, we proceeded to pay this human $700. He was supposed to do the video as well. At the wedding, he was VERY rude and snappy upon my first greeting with him. He was rushing and complaining about the temperature in the place. After the wedding, we took more pictures. He hollered at my husband for not holding his hand right and even went as far as hollering at my grandmother who walks slower than the normal grandmother would because she has a bullet in her on top of being elderly. After approached about this, he stated that "he doesn't have time to be waiting on grandparents b/c he takes his pictures right after the other." He then stated, "I don't have time to be waiting on no da** bridesmaids standing around trying to look pretty." His temper is, in no way, heavenly. It only made me more tense at my wedding. Well, we were supposed to be booked for the whole day. At the reception, he was rushing me to have my first dance and cut the cake so he could go b/c he "had another engagement, and I was making him late." Funny, huh? It's supposed to be "me and my husband's day." In the video, you can hear him saying "hurry up" and about him having elsewhere to be when we were cutting the cake. Okay, now on to after the wedding and getting the pictures. The $700 only covered 24 regular sized pics and 12 8x10's along with the video. He took a total of 177 pics, so he says, and to get the others, I'd have to pay 1.50 per picture. Sounds okay, huh? The thing was that I couldn't get one picture without getting all 177. He just didn't work that way. If I wanted to get 8x10's of others, I could do so individually by paying 15.00 per extra one. My husband and I felt like memories were thrown away, so we purchased 7 other pictures paying 110.00. My mother fell ill and had to be put in the hospital, so my husband went to get the pictures. He didn't give us 5 pictures that we had picked out. When we called back, he was supposed to return the call on that Sunday. He didn't. We called him back Monday, and he wouldn't answer. He refuses to answer or reply to us. I spoke with others, and they said tat he didn't MAKE them get the whole bundle of pictures if they didn't want em just so they could get the ones they liked. They have books and books for their marriage. I have one measley book that doesn't capture my day well, and not only that, I only got a snippet of my first dance and none of my father/daughter dance. No anything of throwing the bouquet. All was lost. I regret the decision to hire him to the fullest. I only pray that God takes care of this situation and that others are cautioned when choosing their "wedding photographer/videographer."
